Gabi Miano, LCSW

Gabi received her bachelor’s degree in psychology from the University of Virginia. She then completed her master’s degree in social work at Columbia University, with a specialization in clinical practice and a concentration in health, mental health, and disabilities. During her master’s at Columbia, she received intensive training in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), as an intern with the DBT Training Program and Lab, under Dr. Andre Ivanoff. While at Columbia, she interned in a legal services setting, providing counseling services to clients facing issues such as eviction and family problems. She additionally interned at the Adult Outpatient Psychiatry Department Clinic of Zucker Hillside Hospital, providing individual and group DBT therapy to individuals with borderline personality disorder, as well as other disorders. She was a senior staff clinician and supervisor for 5 years at The Reeds Center, a Manhattan based training and treatment center, and specialized in treating disorders such as OCD, trauma, and anxiety, working with children, adolescents, adults, and their families.
Gabi has extensive training in empirically supported therapies including Exposure and Response Prevention Therapy for OCD (ERP), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), CBT for Eating Disorders, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, and Habit Reversal Therapy. She has experience in suicide and crisis intervention. She additionally has experience using STAIR-NST, Prolonged Exposure, and Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) to treat trauma. Gabi also has experience providing supervision to other clinicians during her time at The Reeds Center.
She is a member of the International OCD Foundation and the New York City Cognitive Behavioral Therapy Association.
